The DFG allocations for 2016/17 have now been announced, download HERE.
In 2016-17, the Better Care Fund will be increased to a minimum of £3.9 billion. It is intended that this will be allocated locally to health and social care services through pooled budget arrangements between local authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). Part of the fund is the £394 million allocation for the Disabled Facilities Grant, which is paid directly from the Government to local authorities.
For general information on DFGs, visit the Foundations website. Foundations is appointed by the Department of Communities and Local Government to oversee a national network of nearly 200 home improvement agencies (HIAs), care and repair agencies and handyperson providers across England. Their website is a very useful source of information on DFGs and other housing adaptation and design issues.
