Emma is an Inclusive Design Consultant and Architect. Her interest in inclusive design began during her training as an Architect in the 1990’s and was complemented by 8 years practical experience of working as an Architect in the UK and abroad and over 15 years as an Access Consultant. She has worked on a range of award winning projects including The Young Vic Theatre and the Royal Festival Hall (Southbank Centre) and has had a close working relationship with Viva Access since 2003, delivering training on access auditing and housing adaptation & design to services and companies throughout the UK. Gordon is a qualified Occupational Therapist with more than 8 years’ experience of community based housing adaptation and design work and, since 2012, housing assessments on behalf of charities and private companies, such as Viva Access. In addition to a specialism in children’s adaptations, Gordon has a keen interest in the broad area of access consultancy and recently completed his diploma in Accessibility and Inclusive Design from Salford University. She delivers training to OT and other services throughout the UK and Ireland on issues such as manual handling, equipment and adaptations, in relation specifically to the bariatric / plus size user group.
DAWOOD HADDADI, Consultant Trainer
Dawood is an Environmental Health Officer and Surveyor. Since 1990 he has specialised in the area of housing and worked as Housing Environmental Health Officer, Regeneration Consultant and Private Sector Housing Manager for a number of local authorities. In his current role, he is responsible for managing the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) budget, as well as the Private Sector Housing and Renewable Assistance budget and delivering adaptations services to the local Registered Social Landlord (RSL). MARNEY WALKER, Consultant Trainer
Marney is an Occupational Therapist with more than 22 years experience working across health, social care and housing sectors. For much of this period she has worked in social services and had responsibility for the provision of specialist equipment and bespoke adaptations for older and disabled people. Since 2010 Marney has pursued her passion for inclusive design and completed a number of training courses in this regard, such as an MA in Design Research for Disability from London Metropolitan University, a Design for Dementia course at University of Stirling and a BA in 3D Design from University of Brighton. Cath is a qualified Occupational Therapist with more than 14 years’ experience working within the health and social care sector and has worked in both adult and children’s services and has also managed a countywide Children’s Occupational Therapy Team. She has extensive experience of providing solutions to complex social care and housing needs for children and adults that have a wide range of health needs and disabilities.
