ABOUT CASE STUDY WORKSHOPS (CSWs)
CSWs provide opportunities for future/continuous learning. Although stand-alone events, they are intended ideally to complement training courses and to provide spaces in which attendees can consolidate information gained during training and explore or problem-solve a wider range of case scenarios than is generally possible within a training course.
CSWs are facilitated by two trainers with, where possible, complimentary skill sets (e.g. OT & Surveyor, or Grants Officer & OT, or Housing OT & Dementia specialist). A selection of cases, sourced by Viva Access, are explored/problem-solved within both small-group breakout rooms and within the full-group main session room. Facilitators assist the group(s) to identify and explore solutions to a range of salient issues such as client considerations, design options, safety issues and technical constraints.
CSW-LEVEL 1 (BATHROOMS)
This CSW-Level 1 on Bathrooms is suitable for all. If you are new to bathroom adaptations however, or are returning to practice, we recommend completing the course Bathroom Adaptation & Design: Part 1 (and if possible, Bathroom Adaptation & Design: Part 2) before attending this CSW. In this way you will be able to apply the learning from these courses to the practical scenarios explored in the workshop. Level 1 cases involve both ambulant disabled and wheelchair users and focus on internal adaptations i.e. adapting within a given space, such as bath-out/shower-in scenarios.
The CSW-Level 2 (Bathrooms) case scenarios are more complex e.g. users with progressive &/or multiple conditions and adaptations that may involve extensions, garage conversions or relocation of bathrooms.
