ONLINE TRAINING
Our In-House housing adaptation & design modules are now delivered exclusively Online. This allows us to provide training at much reduced rates (less than 50% of equivalent face-to-face modules) and to offer a wider range of topics. The training is ‘Live’ and attended by the same trainers as previously.
Advantages of Online Training
We have developed our online courses so as to provide the same level of information as our face-to-face (FTF) versions. The difference between the two formats relates primarily to levels of interaction. Most types of FTF interaction however can be replicated online e.g. Q&A with trainers, discussion groups (break-out rooms), viewing powerpoint presentations, working with and commenting on drawings, case studies, desktop exercises, testing knowledge through use of quizzes & tests, and demonstration videos.
- Significantly cheaper (less than half the cost of our face-to-face training courses)
- Can be delivered anywhere in the UK and Ireland (or beyond!) at no extra cost
- Can be attended from home (or anywhere with good internet connection)
- Half-day courses now available (half-day rates not available for FTF courses)
- Modules can be spread over days, weeks or longer. ‘Bite size’ learning can be more effective than intense learning as there is time for delegates to consolidate learning and skills in between modules
- Less pressure on services in terms of releasing staff as modules can be delivered half day at a time
For practical exercises, our trainers video elements such as measuring a ramp, measuring for a stairlift, measuring clear opening widths of doorways and so on. These videos are then shown during the module and discussed with the delegates. This can be advantageous as videos can be viewed post-training and used as reference tool, and can also be replayed during the training itself if needed.
