TRISH SWEENEY, Director
Trish is a qualified Occupational Therapist and Access Consultant with more than 20 years’ experience working in the area of housing adaptation and design and 13 years experience as a practicing Access Consultant. She has carried out access audits, drawing appraisals, research and training for a wide range charities, public bodies and private consultancies in relation to both public and residential building types. She has also served as Access Officer for an inner London local authority, acquiring in this post extensive knowledge of access related planning and building control regulations.
Trish founded Viva Access in 2002 and divides her time between managing the company, delivering the extensive portfolio of training courses for which Viva Access is highly regarded and working as freelance Access Consultant for David Bonnett Associates. Trish also manages her own independent Occupational Therapy practice in Sussex where she is based – specialising in the design and adaptation of housing for older and disabled people.
Trish is a member of the Centre for Accessible Environments and the College of Occupational Therapy Specialist Section in Housing and is Regional Secretary of the Access Association.
